March 16, 2022 Correspondence with Mayor/CEO Garner and Board of Commissioners

Dear Mayor/CEO Tyrone Garner and Board of Commissioners, 

        It is with a profound sense of urgency that I am corresponding with you today.
(I have attached a Word document that you may find easier to read.)  

        Planned Parenthood is nearing completion of its renovation of its building at 6013 Leavenworth Rd, although no one knew that this was Planned Parenthood, including UG elected officials nor residents of KCK. Planned Parenthood has intentionally and deceptively hidden its presence under a shroud of legal secrecy. But the shroud of secrecy has been removed as you will see later in this communication.

        Please bear with me as I provide you with some needed stats that will emphasize one of my major points that I will make later. I will also use language, although factual, may offend some. But clarity of language is necessary to shine the light on truth, not to offend, and to lead to better decisions. Abortions by WyCo residents are rising. Per KDHE, in 2020 (latest figures) there were 398 WyCo resident abortions - up 10% since 2018. Equally troubling is that the ratio of abortions to pregnancies is growing. Our innocent, defenseless unborn residents are being killed yearly at an unfathomable number and Planned Parenthood is the primary executioner. And now they want a location in KCK!! Obviously, the killings will only increase with this location. 

        Statewide, in 2020 abortions grew 9% to 7,542; Ks-resident abortions were 3,641 and     out-of-state resident abortions were 3,901 and growing rapidly. Women are coming to Ks for abortions in increasing numbers. We have become a destination state for abortions. We will again become known as Bleeding Ks, Bloody Ks, as we were known from 1854 to 1859 in the struggle over slavery when we were the Kansas Territory. I trust that we all agree that this is not how we want our beloved state to be known. 

        This Planned Parenthood location in KCK will become a magnet for women seeking abortions from other states with our convenient location to I-70 and I-35. It has been projected by some that this yearly increase in out-of-state abortions could be many times what we experience today. We had better widen Leavenworth Road if Planned Parenthood is not stopped. We will also witness increased sex-trafficking as perpetrators are always seeking abortions for the pregnant women whom they traffick. From Planned Parenthood's view all of the above would be great for business. Hence, they want to be in KCK. (It is important to also note that Planned Parenthood performs over 300,000 abortions per year nationally. It is over a one-billion-dollar business.) 

        The building at 6013 Leavenworth Road is owned by HealthTec Initiatives LLC. There is virtually no public information about this entity. Planned Parenthood used this same strategy for renovating a building under a different LLC name in Fairview Heights, Il with Planned Parenthood's name revealed only at the opening of that abortion clinic (see attached). Just recently, the same strategy was used in Edmond, OK. HealthTec Initiatives LLC (the same entity as in KCK) purchased a building, renovated it, and then granted the deed to Planned Parenthood. The community was unaware that this was a Planned Parenthood clinic until opening. But we discovered a public document on file with the Oklahoma County Assessor that documented the transfer of deed from HealthTec Initiatives LLC to Planned Parenthood - at no cost. (See attached.)  So, the relationship between these organizations has been established. Planned Parenthood is the intended occupant/owner at 6013 Leavenworth Rd.

        If Planned Parenthood ever comes out of the shroud of secrecy and deception and communicates with UG elected officials, they may try to claim that they are not planning to perform abortions in KCK. My response is: 1) Plans change; 2) Planned Parenthood is not going to abandon its efforts to perform abortions and any location affiliated with Planned Parenthood has the blood of abortions on its hands; 3) No organization involved in promoting abortions should be welcome in KCK. 

        As community leaders you help set the culture and values that KCK/WyCo embrace. In our KCK/WyCo community, building values is a competitive societal process. Therefore, all values cannot be embraced, unavoidably upsetting some residents whose values are not embraced. I recognize that as leaders this is incredibly challenging but building good and enduring values is an essential part of good leadership. Often, there is a temptation to be overly tolerant which can lead to the absence of values and, thus, a diminishing culture and a diminishing community. The value that we are asking you to embrace is that WyCo/KCK will recognize the intrinsic value of every human being, born and unborn. It is subjective and unreasonable to consider unborn human beings as disposable and unworthy of protection when compared to born human beings. I believe that, as community leaders, you have a moral obligation to stand in opposition courageously and boldly to Planned Parenthood.   

        We are relaunching our Stop Planned Parenthood in KCK campaign which was used in 2019 to get the Planned Parenthood lease at 1854 Minnesota Ave canceled. We are encouraging the public to contact you and express their thoughts. Specifically, we are requesting your support for new zoning ordinance(s) that control where any organization that performs abortions or is an affiliate/or part of an organization that performs abortions. If there are legal limits to keeping abortion clinics out of KCK, new ordinances could be implemented to restrict how close such abortion clinics could be to residential neighborhoods and schools. You should also expect that many local businesses will not want to be located near an abortion clinic. (These are the same types of new ordinances that I recommended in 2019.) 

         These new ordinances should be in effect soon such that Planned Parenthood will not be able to obtain an occupation license at 6013 Leavenworth Rd. I recognize that this would probably involve a departure from the normal process/timeline for implementing new ordinances.

        To provide the UG with time to implement new ordinances the occupation license should be delayed. I believe that Planned Parenthood's deceptive, secretive actions are adequate justification for delaying an occupation license for Planned Parenthood (or other clandestine organization representing Planned Parenthood). I realize that this could invite legal action from Planned Parenthood. This would be a necessary cost to stand for the core values that I believe our UG elected officials should stand for.
